How to use these

  1. Mass1 mg = 1,000 mcg = 1,000,000 ng. Type into any box and the other two follow.
  2. VolumeOn a U-100 insulin syringe, 1 mL = 100 "units." So 0.1 mL is 10 units. Type mL or units.
  3. Amount (moles)Converts mass to micromoles (µmol), a count of molecules. This needs the molecular weight (MW) — get it from the COA or the property calculator.
  4. Temperature°C ↔ °F. Type either box; °F = °C × 9/5 + 32, and °C = (°F − 32) × 5/9.
  5. Lengthmm ↔ inches. Type either box; 1 inch = 25.4 mm exactly.

Common questions

What's the difference between mg, mcg, and ng?

They're the same scale, 1,000× apart: 1 mg = 1,000 mcg (micrograms) = 1,000,000 ng (nanograms).

What's a U-100 unit?

A mark on an insulin syringe. The barrel is divided into 100 units per millilitre, so reading in units avoids measuring tiny millilitre fractions.

Why do moles need a molecular weight?

A mole counts molecules, and heavier molecules weigh more each — so converting between mass and moles requires the molecule's weight (MW).

How do the temperature and length conversions work?

Temperature uses °F = °C × 9/5 + 32 (and the reverse); length uses 1 inch = 25.4 mm. Type either box and the other converts instantly.
